As a former equestrian (hunter/jumper and fox-hunting), it was truly a Proust-like moment for me: the sweet smell of the hay in the air, the soft feel of petting a pony and a horse, and the ingrained muscle memory of riding – the pleasant odors and familiar sights lingered all around me.
Champagne, horses, and dancing were the highlights of the day and evening – et bien sûr, mingling with friends and new acquaintances.
A great day and an enjoyable event – I just wish now that I had kept my custom riding boots!
Not far from Exit #42 off the autoroute A8, there is a peaceful haven with a natural treasure! I met friends for lunch, following and found myself at a charming hotel with a terrace restaurant by the pool. This lovely, tranquile place is a perfect overnight or weekend getaway, without having to travel far from the city of Nice, not to mention charming and welcoming!
After lunch, I learned that they have horses on the grounds, as well as the largest area of Lotus flowers in the world! Being a former equestrian, off I went, to have a look and a nice walk, to enjoy nature, and to digest all the great food! What I found was a hidden treasure of breath-taking beauty!
